Ethics

Rules For An Ethical Life

The list below summarizes a system of ethics based on the rational construction of an ethical model. Each will be expanded upon in time with further detail and clarification.

Ethics are universally applicable.

You always have agency.

There is as much nobility in not taking as there is in giving.

Do not agress upon others.

Make reparations in the event of accidental harm.

Borrowing what you cannot pay back is theft.

Reacting emotionally to fear is the root of evil.

The property of others is never yours to give.

Evil ideas should face discourse and criticism, not suppression.

Peacefully ostracise what you do not like.

There are no crimes of the mind.

You are responsible for all actions that you take.

You are responsible for your health and safety.

Primal instincts are natural. Action taken in response to those instincts is choice.

All contracts made in good faith should be upheld in good faith.

Earn everything that you receive.

Outward honesty begins with self-honesty.

Do not give your word unless you intend to keep your word.

Always keeping your appointments promptly is a reflection of your integrity.

Do not discriminate based on irrelevant factors.

It is your responsibility to expand your self-knowledge continually.

Your beliefs must be frequently tested against reason and evidence.

Fallacy is not the foundation of belief, it is the harbinger of ignorance.

If you create or adopt a dependent, their well-being must be your highest priority indefinitely.

Respect is not owed, it is earned.

Offence is not given, it is taken.
